All over the world, Auschwitz Birkenau, German Nazi Concentration and Extermination Camp, has become a symbol of terror, genocide, and the Holocaust. Established by Germans in 1940, in the suburbs of Oswiecim, a Polish city, 60 km outside Krakow, that was annexed to the Third Reich by the Nazis.
The camp was the largest in the Third Reich. According to historical investigations, more than 1 million people lost their lives here. Most of the victims were Jews.
The visits starts on the grounds of Auschwitz I, where the permanent exhibition and original buildings of the camp can be visited. Later you will be transfered to Auschwitz II (Birkenau). The tour lasts up to 4h.
While on the grounds of the Museum, you are required to observe the appropriate solemnity and respect.
> Duration: up to 7-8h (with return transfer from Krakow)
> The maximum size of backpacks or handbags brought into the Museum can not exceed dimensions 30x20x10cm. Please leave your bags in your cars or buses or use the locker available
> Wear clothes appropriate to weather conditions as it is outside tour
> There is no lunch break during the tour
> Because of huge interest, we recommend booking the visit in advance and arrive at the Memorial at least 30 minutes before the start of the visit
> Visits to the Museum by children under the age of 14 are not recommended
