KRAKOW – WIELICZKA

Breakfast, in the morning tour of the Old Town, which is at UNESCO World Heritage List: the largest medieval market in Europe, the Cloth Hall, St. Mary’s Church with an altar by Veit Stoss, Jagiellonian University, Royal Road and the Wawel Royal Castle. Coffee break at the famous and one of the oldest Krakow cafes – Jama Michalika.

In the afternoon excursion to the Wieliczka Salt Mine (with a break at the underground restaurant). In the evening short tour of Kazimierz- the Jewish district, dinner at a restaurant with a concert of Jewish music.

AUSCHWITZ-BIRKENAU – WADOWICE – KALWARIA ZEBRZYDOWSKA

Auschwitz

After breakfast, transfer to Auschwitz. Visit to the former Nazi concentration camp Auschwitz-Birkenau placed on a UNESCO World Heritage List, which was the largest in the Third Reich. In this camp were killed about 1.5 million people.

A visit to Wadowice, the birthplace of John Paul II. Visit in his former parish church and the Pope’s family home, which houses a museum dedicated to his life. Coffee break and the opportunity to taste the famous cream cakes, the Pope’s favourite.

Transfer to Kalwaria Zebrzydowska to discover the Mannerist Architectural and Park Landscape and pilgrimage. Kalwaria Zebrzydowska is, next to Czestochowa, the most important Polish sanctuary. There is a Marian shrine and the Way of the Cross with 42 churches and chapels, called Polish “Via Dolorosa”, or Golgotha, built in the seventeenth century by Zebrzydowski family.

Return to Krakow. Dinner and overnight.

TYNIEC – OJCOW – PIESKOWA SKALA – KRAKOW

Tyniec

After breakfast, transfer to Tyniec, to visit the beautifully situated Benedictine abbey. The church has a rococo altar of black marble, representing the Holy Trinity and the Holy Apostles Peter and Paul by Francesco Placidi.

Transfer to Ojcowa to see the chapel “On The Water” and the castle ruins of Casimir the Great, which is part of the “Eagle- nests” trail.

Transfer to Pieskowa Skala to admire the castle, which was built during the reign of Casimir the Great. Nearby is the famous “Hercules’ Club”- a very interesting rock formation, one among many in this region.

Return to Krakow. Visit to Rynek Underground museum, where you will discover the secrets of the underground city with all its medieval mysteries and well-preserved tracts and markets. The archaeological underground-guided tour provides with the details of the 1000-year history and leads straight into a world where the past meets the present.Rynek Underground is a unique world-class museum housing 700 exhibits. It also provides its visitors with nearly 500 electronic monumental representations, 600 3D reconstructions and many more.

Visit to Schindler Factory museum. Schindler was a German entrepreneur who came to Krakow to run a business, and ultimately saved approx. 1000 Jews who would have been killed in the labour camp in Plaszow. The museum was opened in June 2010 and won the prestigious Sibyl Award (Museum Event 2010) and has become a place, which you have to visit when you come to Krakow.

Pieskowa Skala- Castle

BUKOWINA – CHOCHOLOW -ZAKOPANE

After breakfast departure to Zakopane. On the way visit the thermal swimming pool complex in Bukowina Tatrzanska and drive through remarkable village Chocholow – the geatest example of a wooden village (most of the wood houses were built in the 19th century) and a visit to a local sculptor. Arrival to Zakopane. Folklore evening dinner with live music.

Overnight in Zakopane.

ZAKOPANE

Tatra Mountains

After breakfast, trip by cable car to Kasprowy Wierch (1987 meters above sea level). In the afternoon sightseeing of Zakopane: beautiful wooden chapel Jaszczurowka, the old cemetery on Peksowy Brzyzek and free time on the main pedestrian street – Krupowki.

Dinner at the hotel. Overnight in Zakopane.

DEBNO PODHALANSKIE – NIEDZICA – SZCZAWNICA – KRAKOW

Dunajec River

After breakfast drive to Krakow. On the way visit to the wooden church in Debno Podhalanskie (UNESCO heritage list). The Church of St. Michael the Archangel was built in 1490. The interior church walls are decorated by unique painting and polychrome work from the 15th century, featuring geometric and floral motifs in a striped arrangement. Then visiting the castle in Niedzica and taking part in one of the best-known tourist attractions in the Pieniny Mountains – picturesque rafting on Dunajec River Gorge.

Arrival in Krakow. Dinner and overnight.
