Krynica Zdroj has operated as a health resort for over 200 years, and is the birthplace of Polish hydrotherapy. It was here that one of the founders of Polish balneology, professor of the Jagiellonian University – Joseph Dietl practiced in XIX century. It was here where the greatest Polish writers, poets and painters used to spent their time and repair their health. Krynica was the most fashionable health resort among the elites of interwar Poland. But Krynica isn’t just about history – it’s a 21st modern database of thermal treatments. A renowned spa resort which successfully combines tradition with modernity, where all services are provided to you at the highest level.
Krynica’s mineral waters are a country treasure. Krynica’s mineral waters are used to treat gastrointestinal diseases, anemia, and metabolic diseases: atherosclerosis, diabetes, hyperthyroidism, gout and urolithiasis. Krynica’s highly carbonated mineral water is used not only as drinking cures (krenotherapy) but also it is used for medicinal and mineral acid-carbon baths. Krynica also has the only dry bath of the natural gas carbon dioxide in the country, which can even be used by patients with heart disorders and blood circulation disorders.
Krynica offers more than 200 options of accommodation but we want to highlight 2 of them:
Hotel SPA dr Irena Eris, located in the Czarny Potok valley, at the bottom of Jaworzyna Krynicka mountain. It’s a place for people who want to devote their free time to biological regeneration and who value luxury and the highest quality of services. SPA Centre, where one may take advantage of the beneficial sauna effects and relax in the water of the swimming pool or Jacuzzi. There is a room for physical activities, cardio studio and a gym with equipment for people with various levels of fitness which will contribute to the maintenance of a good physical condition. The hotel also offers callanetics, aerobic and aqua aerobic sessions in the swimming pool carried out by instructors. Other options include renting bicycles and Nordic walking.
Mountain hostel Jaworzyna is a cheaper option, but perfect for those who seek close contact with nature. Great location just off the peak of Jaworzyna Krynicka, with a great view of the surrounding peaks and Krynica, easy to reach any time of the year by the cable railway.
