Krakow won MICE Trend Award 2014
Another award for Krakow. During the gala, MICE & Business Travel Event, which took place on Thursday (November 11th) in Amsterdam, the city received the title of “MICE Destination Trends 2014”. Krakow defeated Dubrovnik and Riga.
– Krakow is more and more willingly visited city by tourists from the Netherlands, recent studies indicate that the number of visitors from the Netherlands increased twtofold in relation to the previous year – in 2014 it was 77 thousand people – says Magdalena Sroka, Deputy Mayor of Krakow. She met with dozens of Dutch tour operators on December 10th, during conference in Amsterdam “Move Your Imagination – Eye on Poland” organized by the Polish Tourist Organisation.
– KLM launches direct flight from Amsterdam, Krakow won the prestigious award ZOOVER for the best destinations city trip in 2014, a modern conference center was created – it all had to bear fruit- says deputy director of the International Centre of the Polish Tourist Organisation in Amsterdam Andrzej Pawluszek, which together with Dominika Szulc , ZOPOT director in Amsterdam and Brussels, accepted the award at a gala MICE & Business Travel Event.
The capital of the Lesser Poland is actively promoted in the Dutch market. Together with the Polish Tourist Organisation they organize visits for the tourism industry, tourism journalists and bloggers, participating in tourism fairs and presentations for the industry. According to the Institute of Tourism in Warsaw, almost 400 thousand Dutch visited Poland in 2013. MICE Destination of Year was declared to Belgium (Poland was also nominated). The hotel’s best network of the year has been given to American Hilton, and the best airline was selected German Air Line Airberlin. The winners are selected by a prestigious journalists of “MICE & Business Travel” based in Amsterdam.
