All-day stay in exceptional Bialowieza National Park, where is the last bison reserve and huge natural forest. This forest is one of the last and largest remaining parts of the immense primeval forest that once stretched across the European Plain and it is called “The lungs of Europe”. The forest is inhabited by bisons, that are heaviest animals of Europe. It has been designated at UNESCO World Heritage Site, UNESCO Biosphere Reserve and an EU Natura 2000 Special Area of Conservation.
Travel through virgin areas of Biebrza National Park (the largest area of swamps and peat bogs in Poland) to Augustow – a delightful tourist town, Polish capital of sailing.
Tour of the Augustow vicinity. You may see famous Augustow Canal which from the time it was first built with its numerous sluices, was described as a technological wonder. Augustow Canal was the first summit level canal in Central Europe to provide a direct link between the two major rivers, Vistula River and Dnieper River through the Biebrza River so it provided a link between the Baltic and the Black Sea. Then you will escape into the wild environment of Wigierski National Park.
Breakfast, travel to Gizycko where you may admire an Eastern Orthodox church, a water tower (which has an admirable panorama of the city from above) and Boyen Fortress, then memorable cruise on picturesque Kisajno lake (where is a rare birds’ reserve).
